TRAINING FOR VLT OPERATORS STAFF MEMBERS
Gaming is a source of entertainment for a large number of Albertans. A small percentage of people do experience moderate to severe problems with gambling.
Problem gambling occurs when there is a lack of control over gambling, particularly the scope and frequency of gambling, the level of betting and the amount of leisure time devoted to gambling.
Alberta VLT Operators recommend patrons to gamble at levels they can afford.
AGLC has a policy for identifying problem gamblers, and we are responsible to make sure that our servers and staff have Reel Facts VLT Staff Training, and ProServe, and these courses can be counter productive for staffing requirements and unavoidable turnover rates, and at AVOA we believe that these courses should be subsidized by the profits that are generated through VLT Gaming.
AVOA is committed to making sure that the value of operating VLT’s remains profitable for both Alberta Lotteries, AND the on-site VLT operators that conduct all the daily operations with the machines.
